Fallout 3 Inventory Console Commands

These console commands and cheats essentially allow you to make changes to your inventory. Using these console commands, you cannot only add items to your inventory but also remove them, equip certain items, and even repair them.

player.additem
This allows you to add an item to your inventory at full HP. For instance, you can use the command like player.additem A1B34 10 without ‘<>’ to see the desired effect. It is important to remember that you do not need to write the brackets to see the effects.

player.additemhealthpercent
Using this console command, you can add a specific item to your inventory, having a certain condition. However, one important thing that you need to know is to specify the quality of your desired item in decimal form. For instance, player.additemhealthpercent A36B 10 0.75 will provide you with 10 units of a certain item at 75% quality.

player.removeitem
This console command is the exact opposite of the previous console command, allowing you to remove a certain item from your inventory.

search <name> <type>
Used for locating IDs, perk names along with commands. Use PageUp and Down for scrolling. It requires the Fallout 3 “Command Extender” plugin.

player.srm
This allows you to automatically repair items that come under your Repair Skill.

player.showinventory
This is another useful console command that allows you to see your complete inventory with IDs. If you are looking forward to using the ‘player.removeitem’ console command, use this one to find more about the IDs of a specific item.

player.equipitem
This console command allows you to equip an item from your inventory.

player.setweaponhealthperc
If you like to fight a lot, you can take the most out of this simple console command. You can use this one in order to alter the health of your equipped item. However, unlike ‘player.additemhealthpercent’ cheat command, you do not need to specify your desired health in decimal form.

NPCs Console Commands

These console commands can be used in order to make changes to different NPCs available in the game. You can use them to manage the inventories of in-game NPCs, move to them, and do other changes.

player.moveto
It allows you to move to an NPC in the game.

additem
Using this simple console command, you can add a specific item to an NPC’s inventory.

equipitem or unequipitem
It basically allows you to equip/unequip an item present in an NPC’s inventory.

inv
This simple console command allows you to see all available item in an NPC’s inventory.

sbm
You can see the barter menu with NPCs using this console command.

openteammatecontainer 1
This console command allows you to open up the inventory of an NPC and even allows you to transfer item to/from both inventories.

gbo
It allows you to see the base object ID of an NPC. It can be useful for using other console commands in the inventory.

resethealth
This console command allows you to restore an NPC’s HP.

kill
If you wish to kill off an NPC in the game, you can use this simple console command.

resurrect
If you accidentally killed off an NPC in the game, you can use this simple console command to bring them back to life.

tcai
This basically allows you to toggle all available combat AI in Fallout 3.

tai
This basically allows you to toggle all available AI in Fallout 3 – combat and non-combat.

setally (0/1) (0/1)
This console command basically allows you to befriend one faction with another faction in the game. I have provided a complete list of Faction IDs at the end of the post.

setenemy (0/1) (0/1)
This console command is the exact opposite of the one mentioned above.

setessential (0/1)
You can use this console command in order to turn an NPC into immortal. You can use ‘0’ to turn an NPC mortal and use ‘1’ to turn an NPC immortal.

disable/enable
This console command basically allows you to delete an NPC from your game or to make one reappear.

startcombat/stopcombat
You can use this console combat to stop an NPC from attacking you.

setav aggression 0
You can use this console command in order to completely disable an NPC’s hostility.

player.placeleveledactoratme
This console command basically allows you to create a clone of an NPC in the game and place it at your desired place.

resetquest
If you, somehow, managed to mess up a companion’s quest, you can use this simple console command to reset the desired quest.

Quests Console Commands

As the title suggests, all of the console commands provided below deal with different quests, completing quests, and skipping quests in the game. These are especially helpful since there are a lot of bugged quests in the game.

movetoqt
You can use this console command in order to travel to the quest target.

showquestlog
You can use this console command to see the detailed quest log of a particular quest including everything you have seen and done.

getqc
This console command basically allows you to see whether a quest is complete or not. If it’s complete, you will see ‘1’ and if its incomplete, you will see ‘0’.

resetquest
This console command basically allows you to reset a quest.

sqs
You can use this console command in order to detail all the objectives of your desired quest.

getstage
With this console command, you see the objective level of your desired quest.

setstage
In case you run into a bugged quest, you can use this console command in order to jump to an objective level. Coming across a bugged quest is not very uncommon in Fallout 3.

completeallobjectives
If you do not want to proceed through the bugged section of a quest, you can use this quest in order to complete all the quest steps of your desired quest.

sqt
You can use this console command in order to list all available quest targets.

sqv
In case you want to see a complete list of quest Variables, you can use this console command in order to do so.

saq – start all quests
This console basically allows you to start all the quests.

caqs – Completes all stages for all quests
This console command allows you to complete the entire game even the quests you’ve never played.

SetQuestObject
This console command sets an NPC/item to quest object or not (1 is, 0 not).

Progression Console Commands

These simple console commands are useful for saving your game, loading up your previous saves, and more.

save
This console command allows you to save your progression with your custom savefile name.

load
This allows you to load your previously saved game.

savegame
This allows you to save your progression and name it whatever you want!

exit
Using this console command should take you to the Main Menu after displaying some credits.

quitgame
This allows you to directly quit Fallout 3.

World and Character Console Commands

These console commands basically deal with altering the world and your in-game character. Using these console commands, you can acquire/remove Traits, Perks, etc.

player.damageactorvalue
This console command basically allows you to deal specific damage to a certain Variable. For instance, you can type player.damageactorvalue stamina 50 to remove 50 stamina from your character.

player.setscale
This allows you to change the scale of your character. ‘10’ is incredibly large, ‘0.2’ is incredibly small, and ‘1’ is the default value. Play around!

player.getav
This console command allows you to read out an actor value that includes the likes of Intelligence, Smallguns, Karma, etc.

player.setav
You can use this console command in order to alter the value of your actor to your desired amount.

player.modav
This console command allows you to modify an actor value.

player.addperk
This console command allows you to add a Trait or a Perk to your character.

player.removeperk
This console command allows you to remove a Trait or a Perk off your character – as simple as that!

player.sexchange
You can use this console command in order to alter the gender of your character.

shownamemenu
You can use this console command in order to change your PC’s name in the game.

showracemenu
You can use this console command in order to alter the race/face of your character. It is important to note that using this console will cause you to lose all your acquired Perks and you will be forced to reacquire them again.

showtraitmenu
You can use this console command in order to alter the Traits of your character.

showbarbermenu
You can use this console command to change your character’s hairstyle.

showplasticsurgeonmenu
If you do not prefer the face of your character that you chose in the game, you can use this console command to revert the changes.

player.advlevel
If you do not want your character to hit Level 50 instantaneously and take things slow, you can use this console command to acquire one level at a time.

player.setlevel
If you wish to Power Level your character to a specific level, you can use this console command to jump your character to that level.

player.agerace
If you wish to change the age of your character, you can use this console command.

player.rewardKarma or player.rewardxp
You can use this console command in order to earn some extra Karma or Experience Points.

setgs
You can use this console command in order to acquire many benefits such as maximum damage resistance, damage dealt, etc. However, one important thing that you need to know is that the changes revert after each reset.

getgs
Using this console command, you can view the values of game settings.

Open the command console (~) and type player.additem followed by the item code, the quantity you want and the condition you want it in.
For example, to add one set of Combat Armor in perfect condition, you would type:

player.additem 00020420 1 100

For example, to spawn three copies of the same Super Mutant, you would type:

player.placeatme 000BE92D 3

going to NPCs already loaded in memory

A non-player character may still be alive but may have wandered through gaps in world geometry into some uncharted nothingness or in a void below ground. First, you may want to check where is that non-player character right now. Sometimes you'll even find out that he's really perfectly okay, just standing in a place you didn't think of. Open the console and enter this command:

player.moveto 000BE92D

Skill Codes

S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

The item codes for improving your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. skills are simply the names of the skill that you'd like to add or remove points from. For example, to add 2 points to your current Perception rank, you would type:

modpca perception 2

Similarly, to decrease your Agility by 4, you would type:

modpca agility -4

Skills

Much like the command for adjusting your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. abilities, changing the value of your various Skills (Science, Repair, Barter, etc.) simply requires typing the skill name into the player.forceAV command. For example, to set your Speech skill to 45 points, you would type:

player.forceAV speech 45

Skills with multiple words are condensed, so setting your Small Guns skill to 70 would be done by typing:

player.forceAV smallguns 70

Perks

Adding a perk to a character in Fallout 3 is much like adding a new piece of armor or a weapon. Use the player.addperk console command followed by the code for the desired perk. For example, to add the Gunslinger perk, you would type:

player.addperk 00094EBB

Enter a perk code multiple times if the desired perk has more than one rank.

CHARACRTER CHEATS
